Robert Leming; President:

robertbio“Lem” began his IT career in 1976 working for the Federal and Special Systems Group at Burroughs; worked with adaptive equipment for people with disabilities at the Center for Information Resources and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania; was the first Information Technology Director at the Philadelphia Museum of Art; served as President for the Museum Computer Network; and was the Executive Director of LibertyNet, the Community Network for the Philadelphia Region.

He founded Lighthouse Technology Associates in 2001.

Lem is fond of the poet William Stafford, for one.

Diana Talyansky; Director, Meeting Support Services, Editor:

Diana has been with LTA since 2013. She is a part of the Meeting Support Services division, providing training, technical support, and messaging assistance for individuals, small-group meetings, as well as complex, major events.

Diana’s background in publishing and teaching English as a Second Language ensures that clients’ communications are on target, concise, and clear. She produces internal documentation and training materials, creating effective and engaging materials. Currently in Philadelphia, Diana has lived in Russia, Ukraine, and South Korea, and worked with colleagues around the globe. This international experience allows her to guide clients in culturally sensitive collaboration with partners of different backgrounds and approaches. She also creates and streamlines work-flow processes to maximize efficiency and ease of use for all stakeholders.

Diana graduated from the University of Wisconsin—Madison with a degree in international relations and Russian studies. She has interned with the United Nations Development Programme, designed ESL curriculum all over the world, and worked as a freelance writer and editor. In her free time, Diana explores Philadelphia, talks to strangers, and travels at every opportunity.

Kate Beale; International Meeting Support Specialist:

Kate is writer, editor and researcher for LTA; she produces documentation for our clients ranging from simple how-to’s and quick reference guides for general users, to in-depth checklists to facilitate the independent use of the technologies we support.

She provides hands on meeting support and ongoing technical training to our clients’ staff in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. In her work with international staff she strives to make sure that international offices are fully integrated and have the tools and support they need to participate in all aspects of their organizations’ work. She is based in Vienna.Kate has consulted for Penn Future (www.pennfuture.org), including on a carbon sequestration project proposed by the British Government; worked as writer, editor, assistant to the Executive Director, and liaison to the Board for Women Matter; interned in radio production for National Public Radio’s Justice Talking; worked at the Annenberg Public Policy Center as a research assistant for a major media study; provided IT support for the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, and volunteered at the Sloth Rescue Center and Refuge in Aviaros, Costa Rica.Kate attended Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia, where she won the English award; the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in political science; and the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, where she received her Master’s Degree in Environmental Technology and International Affairs and graduated with distinction.

Kate has a weakness for sloths, big cats, and scrabble.

Peter Horst; Director, SharePoint Services:

Peter graduated from Eastern University in 2011 with a degree in sociology, but began his IT career in 2010, developing software with Integral Design Software (IDS). While continuing his work with IDS, Peter joined LTA in 2011. He focuses on building SharePoint applications to support a wide variety of business processes such as program planning, attendance management, and organizational learning. Peter also has experience enhancing SharePoint solutions with software like InfoPath, Visio, and Power Pivot for Excel.

Peter lives in the wonderful city of Lancaster, PA. Outside of work he enjoys playing piano and trumpet, reading, baking, Ultimate frisbee, and spending time with his wife, Angelina.

Khalik James; Meeting Support Specialist:

KhalikKhalik became interested in IT services while working for the American Board of Internal Medicine, where he developed his skills in database administration and documentation. Desiring to have a bigger impact on his community, he started a non-profit organization, Abstract Aptitude, focused on art education and its importance in schools. During this project, it became clear to him that there were other start-ups and small businesses in desperate need of IT assistance. He set out to provide a broad range of IT services to other community-minded organizations as an independent contractor. He now joins LTA, continuing to use his IT knowledge as a way to help those who want to positively impact their communities.

In his free time, he is an avid Philly-sports fan, gadget-phile, and enjoys the occasional karaoke party.

Kyle Boggs, SharePoint Specialist:

Kyle PhotoKyle graduated cum laude with a degree in economics from Marshall University’s prestigious Lewis College of Business in 2008.

Kyle relocated to the Philadelphia area in 2009, and before joining Lighthouse Technology Associates, worked as a loan specialist at Valley Green Bank.

Away from work, he is an avid sports fan, loves music and live-concerts, and travels as often as possible.
